Our History (Page 2)

A core group of five families joined with Tim Buzan to start a church that taught the Bible in a practical, easy-to-apply manner, with an informal and casual atmosphere. The “non-religious” approach to corporate worship, enhanced by Pastor Tim's gift of teaching, speaks directly to people’s hearts.

“Pastor Tim preaches relevant messages from the Bible that apply to daily life,” Darla Davidson said. “His messages have spoken to my heart at just the right times!”

This core group continued to grow in number and in unity as they shared their dream and vision with others. They chose to avoid many religious practices and barriers of traditional church focusing instead on connecting people both to the radical love of God through Jesus Christ and to each other.

“Before [my husband] and I found Heartland, we were very discouraged with ‘traditional organized religion’ and ready to give up on church,” Cathy Dyer said. “But God led us to Heartland and showed us what He intended the church to be—a family of believers that are used by God to love one another as He loved us.”
